Wased-Heq has three more reasons to lure you back. Carnal Instinct’s September content update rebuilds Secret Admirer, Law & Order, and Blood Script for its Unreal Engine 5 version, then adds spells, a new weapon, and a much-needed menu overhaul around them.

Secret Admirer follows Havar’s attempts to approach Mehlva. Law & Order starts with a pickpocket problem at the neglected docks and leaves you to decide the culprit’s fate. Blood Script takes a darker turn: a murder mystery with several endings. Secret Admirer and Blood Script also add adult encounters, so the return trip has more on offer than errands.

A Dagger Worth Finishing the Job For

Finishing Blood Script earns the Ritual Dagger, a short, one-handed weapon with a life-draining attack. It works with a shield, too.

The new abilities serve different jobs. Voidwalk is unlocked by default and boosts movement when you need to get away. Blackfall sends you into a jumping area attack, while Ata’s Ritual spends health and Arcana to drain nearby enemies and heal you according to the damage dealt.

New Menus, With a Settings Reset Attached

The main menu, pause screen, settings, and loading screens have been replaced. Controller support also moves to a new input system. Before troubleshooting strange bindings, follow the developer’s advice and reset all settings and key bindings to their defaults.

The graphics options now include DLSS 4, FSR, and XeSS, along with their frame-generation options.

More Room on the Radial

A redesigned radial menu makes tools and abilities easier to reach, including on a controller. The torch and scepter have places there, and the layout leaves room for later additions. The demonstration below shows the menu in use.

One feature is temporarily missing from the new settings: Lovense support. The team plans to restore it in a following update or minor patch.

The Naga Are Still Taking Shape

The Naga preview is work in progress. A new model and a Vivid skin can be seen in Dhrakok, but the character work and associated adult content are not finished. Shadya’s thief quest remains available while that work continues.

The team’s next plans include male and female Naga work, more clothing, the remaining quests from the Unreal Engine 4 version, and further Gilded Fold systems.

The Follow-Up Fixes

Patch 0.7.9.16232 followed on September 21. It fixes Iraya’s dialogue and marker, controller crouching and dodging, several audio and character-display problems, and an Aadi-breaking bug caused by fast travel while mounted. It also changes the item tooltip interface.

Expand the September Update’s Patch Summary

Quests and rewards: Secret Admirer, Law & Order, and Blood Script return in rebuilt form. Blood Script adds the Ritual Dagger reward. Voidwalk, Blackfall, and Ata’s Ritual expand the ability list.

Menus and controls: Rebuilt main, pause, settings, and loading screens; a new input system and on-screen key prompts; a redesigned radial menu with torch and scepter access; dedicated Aadi and torch controls; additional movement options. Reset settings and bindings after upgrading.

Exploration and combat: New dungeon entry and quest icons, fresh combat music and looting voice lines, hit-stop changes, and unlimited sprinting outside combat. Attack and roll stamina costs have been adjusted. Attacking at zero stamina remains possible but carries risk; holding a block uses less stamina. Voltagrim aims until impact, and an arrow-pickup damage exploit has been fixed.

Quest repairs: Updated markers for Home From Home and Law & Order, fixes around the Secret Admirer entrance, Blood Script dialogue that remembers a prior bribe or seduction, and options to skip repeated Shadya dialogue. Other corrections address the prologue skip, NPCs in cutscenes, dialogue overlap, and wandering NPC conversations.

World and movement fixes: Repairs to the Earth Trial floor, a hole in Qtesh’s tomb, collisions, slopes that could incorrectly trigger swimming, ladder jumping, fast-travel timing, AI crowding, and enemy and Aadi turning.

Interface and presentation fixes: Save-menu lag and mouse behavior, black-screen menu hotkeys, inventory attributes, camera behavior near Ranno, voice playback, the scribe’s clothing, dagger-and-shield use, navigation, audio, and speech morphs.

Graphics and temporary limitations: DLSS 4, FSR, XeSS, and frame-generation options are added. Lovense settings are temporarily absent. Naga work remains unfinished.

September 21 follow-up: Iraya dialogue and marker repairs; controller crouching, rolling, and dodging fixes; DSS2 audio corrections; floating Anubite bracelets and Shadya’s stuck tongue fixed; mounted fast travel no longer breaks the Aadi; revised item tooltips.
