Carnal Instinct puts an unusually personal spin on the path from prisoner to power: your body is part of the journey. This single-player, open-world adult action RPG takes you into Sabu, a realm of ancient gods and mythical creatures, where you explore, pursue fully voiced quests, and fight with melee and ranged attacks. Intimate encounters sit alongside that adventuring, with your chosen form sometimes determining which opportunities are available.
You begin enslaved in a world ruled by competing demigods. The premise gives your rise a mythic scale, while character customization brings it down to the skin, species, and physical details of the person doing the rising. Divine ambition comes with a decidedly earthly appetite.
A Vacant Throne and a Troubled River
Sabu stretches through sand-swept ruins and shoreline villages along the Euphoris river. Its divine ruler, God-Queen Kethra, has been absent for a thousand years, though rumors of her return still circulate. In her absence, the demigods who once served as her bodyguards have become warlords, fighting for power at the expense of the people beneath them.
Fully voiced quests take you through that struggle, with melee and ranged combat along the way. The demigods who once guarded the ruler are now fighting over what she left behind.
Build the Body, Mind the Roadmap
You can currently play as Human, Feline, Jackal, Crocodilian, or Draconic characters, with male, female, and futa options. Sliders let you adjust your build, alongside skins and other appearance choices.
Your chosen form can affect which intimate encounters are available. Centaur, Naga, Sphynx, and other forms are also in development, so they should not all be treated as finished playable races.
Company on Your Own Terms
The cast includes human, anthro, exotic, and hybrid characters, with female, male, and futa partners. Sexual participation is optional, and content settings let you turn categories on or off. You choose which encounters to pursue.
Content note: Carnal Instinct includes slavery and master/slave sexual themes, BDSM, frequent explicit sexual content, and nudity. It also includes consensual non-consent roleplay, which is disabled in the menu by default.
Available Now, Still Taking Shape
Developed and published by Team Carnal Instinct, the game remains in Early Access. An archived UE4 version is available through a Steam beta branch. The store description specifically identifies its embedded GIFs as footage from that older build, so those images depict the archived version rather than the current game's visuals.
Carnal Instinct released on Steam on March 1, 2021, for Windows, with Steam Cloud support. The regular US price was $29.99 when checked.
