Tamer: King of Dinosaurs has a new way to keep Victor and Sheela busy between story updates. Deep Jungle: Endless Hunt sends them through escalating dinosaur waves, with randomized boons and increasingly dangerous enemies pushing each run toward an eventual defeat. The August 28 release is the first version of this roguelite-inspired mode, with persistent progression still to come.

The arena sits in a giant crater beneath the Deep Jungle’s canopy. That region is also planned for the main story in Block 2, but Endless Hunt puts its combat space to work sooner. The mode has its own operatic metal soundtrack and room for the team to test enemies and systems beyond the story campaign.

Your Companions Help Build the Run

Between sections of the hunt, Victor returns to a safe area where Sheela, Galmine, Trel, and Kacerie offer different kinds of boons. Sheela handles weapons and offense; Galmine focuses on healing and survival. Trel provides traps and buffing machines, while Kacerie offers tools for managing the demands of longer runs.

The choices are randomized, so you build around what appears rather than selecting the same upgrades every time. Early combinations may be uneven while the team tunes the wave balance. The developer also plans to expand each companion’s selection beyond this initial set.

The Dinosaurs Have Learned a Few Tricks

Velociraptors are weaker individually but dangerous in a swarm. Dilophosaurus adds a ranged threat with acid spit, making distant targets a problem while other dinosaurs close in. Pachycephalosaurus charges with its armored skull, and Europelta can trample and stun Victor.

Elite variants have more health, damage, and aggression, with a different appearance to help you spot them. They are also planned for the wider game, including future hunting quests. During Endless Hunt, mutations and changing wave compositions make later encounters harder.

The update revises health displays, adds critical hits and ways to build critical-hit chance, and adjusts dodging and blocking. Staggered enemies now react to incoming hits instead of remaining unnaturally still. A rebuilt spawning system is intended to support more varied encounters in later story updates too.

What Carries Over—and What Does Not Yet

The first release does not save scores, currency, traps, or other progression between runs. Persistent rewards, a larger boon pool, clearer mutation effects, and further traps and machines are still being developed. Planned costume rewards will be free unlocks tied to wave goals, rather than paid DLC.

Elsewhere, the update overhauls save reliability and opens Chapter Select without requiring prior chapter unlocks. It also adds an automatic cinematic-camera option for adult scenes while retaining manual camera control. The team’s October plans include cooking, taming, construction, quests, enemies, and improvements to the existing Block 1 story.
