Anomalous Coffee Machine 3 rewinds the series to Horu, a freelance game artist trying to cover the rent. A machine appears in her apartment stairwell and starts pouring drinks based on the words she types. The new twist is that she does not just taste the anomalies. She plans to box them up, sell them online and see what happens to the customers. It is a terrible business model and a good premise for a strange simulation.
Coffee, Customers and Consequences
The developer’s plan combines word experiments with an online store. Brew unusual cups, ship orders, read the customers’ bizarre reviews and use social posts to draw more attention. Horu can also leave her desk and meet the neighbors, giving the prequel an apartment setting rather than another single room across from the machine. Screenshots show the word input, computer menus, social follower counter and transformation collection, but the scope of each system will become clearer when the game is playable.
A Prequel Still on the Menu
The Steam page has no announced release date or US price. Its mature-content notice warns of disturbing imagery, sexual acts, self-harm and body horror as possible outcomes. Nothing here should be mistaken for an already released feature set: this is what Horu’s first encounter with the machine is planned to become. If the earlier games made you wonder who first decided to sell impossible drinks, this prequel aims to answer with a shopping cart.
Where to Play
