The developer has announced the existing demo's removal because its characters and animations no longer match the current game. The announcement places the game's release about 10 days away at the time of writing. The developer has decided to expand the game and release it in Early Access.
The current story includes a prologue, the first chapter and part of the second chapter, with the developer describing the game as almost half complete. The full story is planned to include a prologue, 3 chapters and an epilogue.
The original plan was a small adult visual novel with a short story. During development, the team decided the game needed more characters, locations and animations, and more time to tell a complete story that developed its characters. Characters who weren't in the original script brought new quests with them.
The developer plans to finish in a year and is considering two options for releasing updates. The first proposed schedule would bring updates every 1–2 months, each containing 2–3 new animations, a couple of locations and either one side quest or the main quest.
The second option would space updates every 3–4 months, with a couple of quests, several new locations and 6–9 new animations. The developer suggests trying the options before choosing a preferred approach.
For the main characters, player choices will determine both whether players win their favor and whether those characters survive to the end. Those characters are planned to have numerous quests, animations and consequences tied to player choices.
A replacement demo for Steam is promised for later, while the developer removes the existing version.
