Turret Girls marked its first anniversary with a look at its next major addition: multiplayer. The August 25 roadmap also teases a new playable character, while Brazilian Portuguese and Russian localization are already live. Multiplayer and the new character are scheduled for the next update.
The unnamed newcomer is meant to bring a different playstyle and new tools that affect the wider cast. The teaser shows her design, but the announcement does not give her name or spell out the multiplayer format. Player count and multiplayer modes have not been announced.
What Changed During the First Year
The anniversary recap runs through Photo Mode, Raven’s arrival, a metagame loop with challenges, legendary weapons, and a new stage and boss. Girl and Raven currently defend humanity’s power generator from waves of aliens, gathering resources to improve the turret and its defenses. The next recruit will join P.A.N.T.S.U.—the Planetary Alien Neutralization & Tactical Strike Unit—with a different approach to that fight. The unit already rewards better scores with turret systems, accessories, and replacement underwear. Its requisitions department clearly has priorities.
Brazilian Portuguese and Russian translations were released with this milestone. Both are available in the current build. TurretGirls launched for Windows on August 25, 2025, and includes full controller support, adjustable difficulty, Steam achievements, and Steam Cloud saves.
Multiplayer First, More Polish Afterward
Another free update is planned for the fourth quarter of 2026. Its job is to improve multiplayer and finish other adjustments after the larger release. There is no exact release date yet.
The team also hints at discussing the game’s future support later. The studio has kept its content updates free so far; it has yet to explain what that support announcement will involve.
