Anthro Heat’s 1.8.2 update adds a new Garret skin, but the larger changes are about making the sandbox less awkward to use. Characters now load when needed, appearance choices persist more reliably, and the pose menus get several small controls that should save repeat trips through the interface.
The new character option is Shark Garret. A crow design is still being revised, so it is not another finished addition in this patch. The accompanying turnaround shows the shark skin from several angles.
Less Reloading, Fewer Lost Choices
Characters are loaded on demand rather than all being held in memory together. The developer reports lower RAM use. Memory-management fixes also target crashes, and the achievement menu should no longer cause the same stutter when opened.
Skin and accessory selections now persist, as does the character-limit setting. Post-processing preferences receive a persistence fix too.
A Pose Menu for Each Character
Custom pose menus are now separate for each character. Deleting a pose asks for confirmation, while renaming starts with the current name already filled in. Enter accepts the edit, Escape cancels it, and normal key bindings stop interfering while you type.
The skin picker switches to a scrolling list and gains a loading indicator.
Desktop and VR Controls Get Attention
Desktop players gain a custom cursor that hides outside the interface, separate vertical and horizontal speed controls, a turn-speed slider, and a teleport key. Camera rotation at the screen edge is also adjusted.
VR changes address crouch height and the loading menu following head movement. Cloning controls more clearly show when they are active, and a body-possession softlock is fixed.
